A bit about Intermittent Fasting

For obvious reasons, this page has no recipes ?. But, I thought it was important to include on our website.

I’ve tried so many different diets through the years in my attempts to keep my weight down. I went through the low-fat phase in the 80s & 90s, the counting calories way, counting macros, lemonade diet, cabbage soup diet, metabolic diet….you name it!

After turning 50, it started getting even harder to keep the weight off for me. I found that a low-carb / keto diet worked well for me, I was losing pounds and felt basically ok most of the time. But, after losing about 15 pounds, my weightloss stalled so I got discouraged and gave up!

Then, a couple of years ago, I read about intermittent fasting and decided to try it. IT WORKED! I started to fast with a 18:6 plan, eating two meals a day between 2pm and 8pm and found that it was super easy. Kept going and now I usually fast 19-20 hours a day and still eat low carb and keto meals, just without having to count all of the carbs. And… I’m still losing weight ?.

If your weightloss has stalled on a keto / low-carb diet, try giving intermittent fasting a try! There are so many benefits to intermittent fasting, for me it is the lifestyle that gives me a true sense of wellness and well being and I don’t feel like I’m on a diet anymore!

If you are interested in learning more about intermittent fasting, I cannot recommend any better book than Gin Stephen’s Delay, Don’t Deny. Give it a try!!
